contract basis in a wide range of clinical areas to ensure that there is
compliance with current standards, guidance and legislation. Infection
Control Solutions Ltd offers expert guidance on a wide variety of
infection control related issues, including; assessing and managing
risk; trust-wide Infection control audits; developing implementing and
evaluating the annual infection control program to comply with
appropriate legislation directives and guidance; mentoring and
developing staff; provision of educational programmes etc.

In addition, we can undertake consultation work on an
ongoing basis providing specialist staff to work in a healthcare
organisation on a regular basis, dependent on the organisations need.

The range of services provided includes:
- Undertaking a needs assessment and scoping the
infection control programme for the organisation for the
forthcoming year taking account of legislation and DOH/HCC
directives and ensuring compliance with relevant standards e.g.
Winning Ways, Standards for Better Health, national minimum
standards (independent sector).
- Staff Training - Induction, post basic updates,
ancillary, and support staff etc.

- Development of local protocols and policies and

- Attendance at relevant Infection Control
committee meetings.
- Risk assessment and baseline audit of clinical
services e.g. environmental and decontamination audit. See our

- Telephone support 7am -7pm Monday - Friday.
- Additional support for outbreak/serious untoward
incident management.
- Assisting in the selection and recruitment of
infection control Nurses (ICNs).
- Professional mentoring of newly appointed ICNs.
Our staff can provide a regular service on the clients
premises providing specialist advice and contributing to the
organisations annual programme of infection control activity. Usually
our staff work on site either one or two days per week, providing
telephone support for staff on other days to ensure that at all times
the organisation has access to specialist advice.
This service is of particular benefit to those
organisations:
- That currently do not have an infection control
nurse in post
- Are not large enough to warrant employing a
full time ICN (of particular relevance to small, independent
-sector organisations).
- Who have ICNs in development posts but require
specialist staff to support them during their development phase.
