• Infection Control Nurses Association (ICNA)
  This is the professional body for infection control specialists within the UK.
• Health Protection Agency (HPA) - Infectious Diseases
  This link is to the PHLS website, which is now part of the HPA. This is a useful site for current and updated information and news within microbiology.
• Communicable Disease Control (CDC)
  This is the US version of the PHLS, although they deal more with more general public health issues.
• Department of Health (DoH)
  This link is to the main UK Department of Health website.
• British Medical Journal (BMJ)
  This link is to the free, online magazine. Often has articles and news of interest to infection control. There is the facility to have weekly e-mails with a list of the current articles.
